Upcoming Aritst Pop-ups

Elizabeth Stauffer - Artist of the Month for May!

Elizabeth Stauffer (Sable Feather Art Studio) is a Clifton VA-based watercolor artist who loves to paint rural scenes, botanicals, and historic buildings. Follow her on Instagram: @sablefeatherstudio

Shea Lee - Artist of the Month for June!

Shea Lee’s work focuses on texture, color, and playful patterns that are explored through abstract embroidery. She enjoys the balance between the freedom of having no real plan for where the piece will go, and the control of filling in each section one by one as the plan develops. Similarly, these pieces have no real meaning or theme on their own outside of the context when and where they were made. There are rides on the metro, sunny days at the beach, long car trips, and lots of hours in bed watching Netflix stitched into these pieces. This body of work was created as a way to occupy time, focus, and ultimately, find joy in the everyday moments and seasons of life.

Shea is an artist and elementary school art teacher living in Burke, Virginia. See more of her work on Instagram @shealexago or inquire about a commission through email at sheagoitia@gmail.com.

Allison Baske - Artist of the Month for July-August!

Painting water-based subjects while playing with colors, movements, and patterns in big ocean waves and large fish is what I am drawn to most frequently. My art is a love letter to and a meditation on everything in and around our vital oceans. However, the cows in Virginia have started to rub off on me, and most of my work now falls into the category of "Surf & Turf."  I find barracuda's underbites as endearing as cows giant tongues.

The main medium I use is pastels. My pastel paintings are done on sanded paper, mounted on backing board, and framed with museum quality glass.
