From, Mila is a slow fashion family business. Inspired by their favorite places around the world and traditional Indian prints, they aim to create vibrant and colorful textiles for both body and home. All of their designs are printed by artisans using hand carved wooden blocks.
From, Mila create their designs using their travels and the places they hope to travel to as their inspiration. Once they've created their favorite designs, they fly to India and have artists carve their designs into wooden blocks which are used with dye to print the design onto fabric. Because their designs are done by hand and can use multiple patterns and colors, the process to make one scarf or dress can take days, as the dye needs time to dry between each design layer. Once the design is all done, the product is set in the sun to dry naturally, which they believe adds to the beauty of their products.
The art of hand block printing has existed in India for generations, and is what makes their prints and hues shine in ways that couldn't if it were printed by machine. Each piece is uniquely created by hand and entirely one of a kind.
Inspired by the laid-back vibes of California and our favorite boho goddess, this dress will keep you relaxed and cool all year long. Dress it down during the summer with some sandals or sneakers, or dress it up in the fall with tights, boots and a big ol' belt.
