Ophelia & Indigo is the brand we've been searching for. Sustainable, cute, timeless and reasonably priced! This line was created in the midst of the pandemic by friends Claire and Lucy. The starting point was to design the perfect throw-on dress for the heat of the New York summer, made from carefully selected, ethically sourced Indian printed cotton at an affordable price-point.
They want to create beautiful, well-made, well-priced clothes with minimal waste and environmental impact. They are producing small-runs of each collection to minimize wastage and designing made-to-last pieces with a timeless quality that can be worn year after year. They use any surplus fabric to produce pajamas for the Pajama Program which gives children who are most in need a comforting set of PJs.
So many ways to wear the Betsy! Like the rest of this collection, we don’t just see the Betsy as a fall/winter piece. It can be worn now (and in the spring and summer) with denim cut-offs and then transition to jeans and denim overalls as the weather cools with more layers added as the chill sets in. The collar looks truly amazing over knits. Aside from the fabulous collar, the Betsy has a pretty keyhole opening with a tie and a small ruffle on the sleeve.
